Wood Green Animal Shelter

I want to tell you some good news regarding Wood Green Animal Shelter…

After meeting a director of the charity, Wood Green became interested in the work of Home and Abroad Animal Welfare in Sri Lanka. Wood Green are doing great work in and more recently outside of the UK and wanted to expand on this and use their knowledge and experience to help animals suffering outside of the UK in a bigger way.

They agreed to send out two of their staff members to work with HAAAW and get involved with the hands on work in Sri Lanka. The two staff members, Annette and Martine, joined us on our summer 2007 trip.

Annette and Martine could therefore see HAAAW’s work first hand and report back to Wood Green on their return. The two staff members worked brilliantly and we were very lucky to have them.

After Annette and Martine’s presentation about their time spent with HAAAW, Wood Green have organised for another four staff members to join HAAAW in Sri Lanka during the year of 2008.

We are very excited and grateful for this wonderful opportunity and wanted to say a big thank you to Wood Green Animal Shelter. We are very proud that our work has been recognised by a major UK animal welfare charity and hope that we can work in conjunction with them for many years to come.

We hope that this will bring even more light to the plight of animals suffering in Sri Lanka and the World over.

Thank you Wood Green, you can find out more about them on their website www.woodgreen.org.uk
