April 2008 - news from our Sri Lanka trip
At the beginning of the trip the team went to Nuwara Eliya with Dr Neville and Dr Rohan to visit slaughterhouses and see if we could treat a few dogs on the way. Kim and Andrea stayed in Negombo to carry on with the work there.

Nuwara Eliya is a beautiful place up in the hills with many waterfalls and trees, we also had the chance of seeing the tea pickers at work and stopped for a break to have a traditional cup of Ceylon Tea.

We visited three slaughterhouses all needing ramps and shelters, Dr Neville is on the case with this, we also stopped and treated a few dogs on our way round.

Outside one of the slaughterhouses Jack spotted three puppies all alone in what looked to be quite a rough area. We could not leave them where they were so we picked them up and they came to Nuwara Eliya with us! The next morning when we were treating some dogs we managed to home two of the male puppies leaving one female. We took her back to Negombo with us where she stayed with us for the whole trip. Jack named her Chelsea and we all became quite attached to her. She is currently being looked after by Ralph.
